To The Editor:

Whatever the outcome of the Highland Road stop-sign controversy, the issue of speeding on Bridgton streets and roads will remain to be dealt with. The stop signs were the first attempt of a grassroots group of Highland Road neighbors trying to do something about the increasingly dangerous speeding that has plagued this neighborhood for years. We have no sidewalks, so for the many walkers, runners, bike riders, stroller pushers, dog walkers and tourists that ply the narrow shoulders of this road, it can be a risky undertaking just to go downtown.
