Howdy neighbor! 

The other day, among the papers of the Douglass family of West Bridgton, I found a very curious passage in a letter written by Edward Douglass in 1957. He recalled, “Growing up we kept sheep on [Pleasant] mountain... Sometimes a sheep would go missing and Mother feared it was wolves, but the last wolf here was killed in Fryeburg when I was very young so Father only laughed at her...”
