ANDROSCOGGIN VALLEY — Clean up continues throughout the region after a mighty rain and windstorm packed a punch Monday with flooded roads, a few houses left precipitously perched by the river and schools closed on Tuesday.

The Dec. 18 storm started Sunday and lasted into Monday night, with road crews from Berlin to Gorham to Shelburne out all day to tackle a number of emergencies in their communities. Monday’s warm temperatures for the season compounded the weather difficulties, melting any snow left on the ground from a previous snowstorm.
