GROVETON — With opening weekend at Speedway 51 set for Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, track owner Joey Laquerre is planning a two-day spectacular opening with activities including a car show, parade, practice runs and dancing on Saturday, followed by a day of racing action on Sunday.

“This is the biggest opening weekend that we have ever been a part of,” Laquerre said. “We want to start the season off with a carnival atmosphere and with the fun weekend we have planned, we are kicking off our 2019 racing season with a bang!”
