To the editor:

The strongest winds ever recorded on planet earth were on Mt. Washington, which is within eyesight of downtown Berlin. I was almost blown off the road recently on Route 2 just south of Gorham where the big trail entrance to the mountain is. I was driving a full size GMC truck.
