BERLIN –Compensation for the CEOs at the state’s 23 non-profit hospitals increased by 18 percent between 2006 and 2009 according to a new report released yesterday. In 2009, the average hospital CEO in New Hampshire made $489,000.

During that same time period, the report said average wages in the private sector increased by 4.8 percent. Average wages for healthcare sector employees rose 12.8 percent and for all state hospital workers the increase was 14 percent.
