After months of rumors, speculation and hearsay, Gorham officials have gone public with Wal-Mart’s plans to build a supercenter on state Route 16.

As many expected, the new 150,000 to 200,000 square foot store will be built on land presently occupied by the Globe Plaza shopping center. The store and adjacent parking lot will extend from the northern property line of Berlin City Dealerships to the current location of Ramsay Trucking.
