MILAN – Milan Lumber Company owner Richard Carrier said he is willing to work with abutters to mitigate the impacts of a proposed expansion of the sawmill operation.

Carrier is seeking a special exception to expand his business onto a 24-acre parcel formerly owned by Brett and Janet Halvorson that abuts the sawmill property on the north. Plans are to subdivide the parcel into a five-acre residential lot containing the existing house and expand the lumber mill business onto the remaining 19 acres. The first phase of the expansion calls for adding a planer mill and one to two dry kilns.
