CONCORD — New Hampshire Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice James P. Bassett on April 15 notified Gov. Kelly Ayotte of his intention to retire from the Supreme Court as of Aug. 31.

Bassett has served on the Supreme Court since he was sworn in on July 19, 2012. He was nominated to serve on the Supreme Court by then-Gov. John Lynch.
