LANCASTER — A Randolph woman has been indicted for allegedly stealing $19,000 from a Whitefield trucking company.
Katharine Ashby, 43, of U.S. Route 2, Randolph was charged with one count of theft by unauthorized taking and 11 counts of forgery. The indictments allege as a course of conduct she issued numerous checks to herself from MD Trucking LLC’s checking account during October and November 2024. The checks were purported to have been written by an authorized person but were alleged to have been made out by Ashby. The total she is charged with taking is approximately $19,000. Theft by unauthorized taking is a Class A felony, which carries a sentence of up to 15 years in state prison while the maximum sentence for a Class B felony is seven years.
