BERLIN — The partial government shutdown has now gone on for well over three weeks with no immediate end in sight. The longer it goes on, the more hurt and stress it causes workers at the federal prison in Berlin, says union official Robert Cone.

Cone said Local 2008 represents about 180 correctional officers and support staff in Berlin — all are working without pay. He said there are additional non-union members also working at the prison without pay.
