BERLIN — The president and CEO of Berlin Emergency Medical Services, or BEMS, wants the city and its councilors to reconsider having the fire department take over ambulance services and continue with BEMS for another one to two years as plans to hire new staff for the fire department have been postponed.

Rosenberg, in a letter addressed to city councilors and received Jan. 13 by the Sun, made note of the city’s situation and said the private emergency medical services business has the resources to give the city proper coverage.
