“Basically all we want is to put it to a vote in the region. Let everyone vote. If the majority want the prison, fine,” said Pat Bacon of The Informed Citizens Group which opposes the siting of a federal prison on the Milan border.

Bacon and others feel that now that both sides of the question have had a chance to present their views to the public, fairness requires that the question be put to the voters.
