The city council last night gave its tentative approval to a proposal that will create an economic development director position for the Androscoggin Valley.

Outlining the proposal, Northway Bank CEO William Woodward stressed there are still details to be worked out, but the plan is to hire former mill manager Jim Wagner to oversee economic development activities for the Northern White Mountain Chamber, the Androscoggin Valley Economic Recovery Corporation and the Northern Forest ...
