The city council will allow use of city sidewalks to provide a connecting link between northern and southern snowmobile trail systems in the Androscoggin Valley.

In approving the link at Monday's work session, the council stipulated that the approval was only for the current snowmobile season through April 15. Future use will be evaluated based on how the system works this winter. There will also be a curfew, banning use after 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
