There is a tremendous amount of political gaslighting happening in our country right now, on both sides of the aisle. In case you are unsure of the definition of gaslighting, here it is: Manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity. Here is an example: "in the first episode, Karen Valentine is being gaslighted by her husband." More specifically, gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or group, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgment, often evoking in them cognitive dissonance and other changes, including low self-esteem.
