LANCASTER — A fiber optic break in a line servicing households and businesses across two northern New Hampshire counties from Tuesday morning through late afternoon threw a wrench in the quest for productivity.

From Littleton in Grafton County to Lancaster and Berlin in Coos County, internet, telephone and cable TV service was not working for about 10 hours.
