BERLIN — The tradition of a religious community in a historic church on steep Petrograd Street endures, especially since its longtime deacon, Father Zachary Wasuta, was ordained to priesthood on April 1.

The ordination to the priesthood of Wasuta means that he can administer the church’s sacraments. Wasuta’s ordination was by special permission by others in the Orthodox Church. As noted on its website, hrocberlin.org, the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America. In New Hampshire, there are two other OCA churches among the Diocese of New England, in Claremont and in Manchester.
