By now we all know that sugary foods tend to increase the likelihood we will get cavities and put us at higher risk of costly dental treatment.

It is pretty simple really. The bacteria in our mouths use the sugar as food, metabolize the sugar, and the end product of this bacterial feeding frenzy is an acid which eats away at our precious enamel resulting in demineralization which could turn into a cavity.
