Gerard Paul Dupont, 88, of Gilead passed away on Wednesday, May 7 at Ledgeview Living Center. He was born in St. Lambert, De Lauzon, Quebec, Canada on November 11, 1925 the son of Napoleon and Leda Guay Dupont. He married Edna Dion on August 16, 1947 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage before her passing on April 8, 2004. He worked as a logger and was owner/operator of Dupont Trucking. His last employer was Kellogg Inc. in Milan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He loved antique cars and was an avid reader. He enjoyed history and loved Jackie Kennedy.
He is survived by his five children, Andre R. Dupont and his wife Eileen of Gorham, Lise McLain and her husband Stephen of Gilead, Aline Dupont of East Bethel, Diane Bean and her husband John of Baker City, Oregon and Richard D. Dupont of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
