GORHAM — May was New Hampshire’s Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. However, this Sunday, June 9 riders may look to a higher power for protection. The Gorham Congregational Church's first Blessing of the Bikes will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the church parking lot, upholding a custom that bikers around the country observe each year.

The Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, wants bikers, motorcyclists and ATVers to have safe travels this summer so they are hosting their first annual blessing. Geared towards outdoor enthusiasts, it coincides with Laconia Bike Week and will be held this Sunday, June 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the church parking lot, located on the corner of Main and Church Streets in Gorham.
