BERLIN -- Bernie Lavoie, age 74, passed away unexpectedly in the morning hours of Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at her Verdun Street home.

She was born in Gorham on June 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Dennis and Melvina (Guerin) Lavoie. She attended local schools, and was a lifetime resident of the area. Bernie had worked for Converse Rubber in earlier years and also as a nurse’s aide. She also spent several years caring for her parents.
