MILAN/DUMMER -- Paddlers and anglers may have noticed a couple of improvements along the Androscoggin this summer. The Androscoggin River Watershed Council led the way on two projects on the river in northern New Hampshire – a new kiosk at Pontook Reservoir earlier in the year and upgrading an informal access point near Leavitt Stream in Milan.

Both projects were funded by Brookfield Renewable Power, which also owns Pontook Dam and other sites in Berlin. "Brookfield has been a great partner for us as we work to improve access and water quality in the northern portions of the Androscoggin," said Ferg Lea, chair of the ARWC. "Brookfield is especially interested in promoting safety around dams while still encouraging recreation."
