GORHAM — A two-hour open house on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the planned High Ground Climbing Gym in the former Methodist Church at 13 Glen Road (Route 16) drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of area residents, including young children and sling-carried babies. The former next-door rectory, slated to be used as a retail space for the climbing area and guiding services, was not open.

This event was the first chance most attendees had to learn what the town planning board had approved unanimously on Feb. 19 following presentations by entrepreneur Jason Hunter and surveyor Burke York of York Land Services LLC: a voluntary merger of Lots 51 and 52 and the proposed new uses of the property.
