In working with many sellers over the last decade, one thing became very obvious: They all want to get the absolute most return on their investment as possible. Sounds reasonable, right? I think we all do that in our various walks of life. I’m about to sell my 2005 truck, and my first step in that process was to check out Kelly’s Blue Book to see what it’s worth. I also don’t think any of us have ever sold a car without giving it a good wash and vacuum before the potential buyer shows up. It is like a first date for your car!

Although today’s article is not necessarily about “staging,” we are going to explore a few of the upgrades you can make to your home that will accomplish two things. First, today’s suggestions will add value to your home and bolster (or increase?) your asking price. Second, none of these suggestions will break the bank. If the goal is to invest in the home in order to increase the sell price, there truly is no point in spending $5,000 on a remodel or upgrade if the return is only five grand! Let’s get started.
