ALL IN THE GAME | It’s a brutal truism of the Maine surfing scene that the best waves often come during the biggest storms, and the biggest storms often come in the winter. The storm also known as Juno stirred up waves along the coast last week for any brave enough to dive into the ocean in late January, but they’ve got nothing on the stars from the film THE CRADLE OF STORMS, showing tonight at Urban Farm Fermentory. Watch certified madmen Alex Gray, Josh Mulcoy and Pete Devries tear through the Aleutian islands of Alaska in a feature length ode to cold water surfing that has even born-and-bred Mainers reaching for their cocoa. The film is the first installment in a free adventure film series from UFF, with ski/snowboard, climbing and mountain biking titles to follow. Warm up on a little cider, kombucha or mead while you watch surfers carve the chilly Alaskan coast. 6 pm. Free. Urban Farm Fermentory. 200 Anderson Street. Portland. 207.773.8331.
