Ronald Edward Guthenberg, 88, recently of Peabody, Mass., and more formerly of Bridgton, and previously of Boxford, Mass., died Friday November 7, 2025, with his son, Brant and daughter, Karen by his side. Born and raised in the Bronx to the late Edward and Florence (Krus) Guthenberg, he was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and City College of New York. He was honorably discharged after serving in the United States Naval Reserves. Ron worked for the entirety of his career for commercial lines divisions within the insurance industry. As a member of the Quarter Century Club of Commercial Union Insurance, he transferred for opportunities that saw him and his family live in various states on the East Coast from Georgia to Maine. Â
Ron is predeceased by his first wife, Judith (Rieke) Guthenberg of Boxford and second wife, Claire D. (Girardin) Dion of Bridgton. He is survived by his children, Brant Guthenberg and his wife Jennifer of Douglas, Mass., and Karen Magnifico and her husband Mark of Middleton, Mass., his grandchildren; Willem Magnifico, Nicole Guthenberg, Avery Magnifico, Lucas Magnifico, Reagan Guthenberg, and Brody Guthenberg; his brother Gerald Guthenberg of Hurley, N.Y.; stepdaughters; Christine Pierce and her husband David; Kathy Olson and her husband John; Pamela Dion; Michelle Gautreau and her husband David; Martha Marquis and her husband Robert; many step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren as well as nieces and a nephew. He is predeceased by his parents and brother Warren Guthenberg.Â
