Sweden — It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dr. Eric Slayton, a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend. Eric departed this world on July 28, 2026, at the age of 51, due to a sudden cardiac event. Born in the town of Morrisville, Vt., on September 6, 1974, Eric was a beacon of compassion and dedication, whose life was defined by service to others and an unwavering love for his family.
Eric was the cherished son of Stephen and Sharon Slayton and is survived by his father, his wife, Shannon, with whom he shared nearly 20 years of marriage. Together, they raised three remarkable children: Gideon, 18, Galen, 14, and Ainsley, 12, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Adam Slayton and his wife Kimberly, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Gillian Kane, his mother-in-law Roberta Kane along with loved nephews and a niece.
