Doris (Dot) G. Kimball, 90, of Bridgton died peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her home. She was born December 14, 1934, in Skowhegan, the daughter of C. Perley and Iva (Cromwell) Greenleaf. Dot grew up in Skowhegan and attended local schools. While in high school she was involved in softball and basketball, served on many committees, and was Student Council president. As a junior she was one of two students selected by the DAR to attend Girls State, held at Colby College in Waterville. She was also the Junior Prom Queen. In her senior year she received the DAR Good Citizen’s Award. Following graduation from Skowhegan High School in 1952, she was employed by New England Telephone Company as a telephone operator/supervisor.

She married Toppan Robie Kimball of Gorham on September 8, 1956, transferring to the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Woodbury, N.J., where he was stationed at the Nike Guided Missile Base. For five years, they and their two small children lived in Cornish while he was with the Maine Forest Service. As a young homemaker in Cornish, she was active in many organizations including the Literary Club, Ladies Guild, Couples’ Club, and was a Girl Scout leader. The family moved to Bridgton in 1963. She then became a Sunday school teacher at the First Congregational Church. Following the death of her husband in 1967, she attended the University of Maine at Portland/Gorham, receiving her BS degree in 1972. She at first taught third grade at Naples Elementary and subsequently at Crooked River and Songo Locks, upon completion of these two new buildings. Dot retired in the year 2000, after 28 years of teaching.
