PORTLAND — Dianne “DeeDee” Waugh passed peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Born on April 2, 1954, DeeDee was the first of five children born to Waldamar and Jacqueline (Bowen) Waugh. DeeDee grew up in Portland, Westbrook and Casco. She graduated with the Class of 1972 from Lake Region High School in Naples, Maine, where she was a cheerleader and carried that love of cheerleading throughout her life.

DeeDee pursued a nursing career dedicated to caring for others in their most vulnerable moments. She obtained her LPN from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute (now Southern Maine Community College) in South Portland and began her nursing career in pediatrics. Dianne continued her career as a home-health nurse working with the elderly. In her 50s, she went back to school and earned a degree in nutrition.
