Election Day is in under two weeks. Candidates for Maine governor and Maine Legislature have much to address, fix and resolve on numerous issues at the state level. We need better gubernatorial and legislative leadership, with better executive and legislative management and oversight of Maine state government. The status quo of continued poor executive and legislative leadership and management is not okay nor acceptable. Meaningful changes are necessary for the betterment of Maine people and our state. The gubernatorial candidates vary in leadership experience and management, including fiscal management, oversight and responsibility. We need performance audits, program reviews, etc. of all state-managed programs, with reorganization and improvements to deliverable services for Mainers, including deliverables of social services. Concurrently, we need to address and root out fraud, misuse and theft of taxpayer funds. Failure to do so with the status quo won’t meet these requirements.
