To The Editor:

We’re being told by signs around town that if the STR (short-term rental) ordinance passes “we all lose.” I’m wondering what we would lose if: town emergency services can locate and respond appropriately to a fire at an STR; an STR rents within its septic capacity; neighbors of an STR enjoy peaceful use of their property; STR owners have proper on-site parking available; a local designee is reachable in case of a problem; STRs properly operate in all town districts (Question 2); traditional lodging venues face fair competition?
