To The Editor:

As a Woods Pond property owner who genuinely loves Bridgton, I am deeply disappointed by the proposed Short-Term Rental Registration Ordinance. My family cherishes our time here, supports local businesses, hires local contractors and service providers, pays substantial property taxes, and supports efforts to protect Woods Pond. We also rent our home when we are not using it. That rental income is not a windfall — it helps offset the significant costs of owning and maintaining a lakefront home and makes it possible for families like ours to continue holding onto places we love.
