To The Editor:

Happy New Year to all. Another brand-new year has arrived along with another new legislative session, now underway this week. It is time for the Legislature to get back to work for us Mainers. Much more work remains to be done. It is time for the Legislature, including but not limited to the Government Oversight Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee, to buckle down and further examine and investigate the DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services), and its current operations and deal with ongoing and recurring waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer funds. The recent news reports and revelations about Gateway Community Services in Lewiston and Portland are a good example of yet more waste, fraud and abuse of Maine taxpayer funds for the operations of Maine state government.
