I am dismayed by the terrible cost — in lives, in global well-being, and in cash — of our illegal war in Iran. Now President Trump has requested an additional $50 billion budget supplement to extend the war. We should be aware of how much this money could buy if it were spent on programs we need in the United States. It could:
