The community band tradition is strong in Maine. Every year on the last Saturday in July, bands from all over Maine come together to celebrate R.B. Hall Day. This year, Fanfare Concert Band will be one of 12 bands participating this Saturday, June 27 at the Westbrook Community Center.

Robert Browne Hall was a musician and composer who lived in Maine around the end of the nineteenth century. He wrote over 100 marches and other compositions which became famous and are still played by college and community bands in the U.S. and other countries. Each year, a band in Maine volunteers to be the host band for R.B. Hall Day to honor his memory.
