EP w14 in ye olden times Apollo 8 Returns to Earth 58 Years Ago.tif

APOLLO 8’s crew landing back on Earth in 1968.

Howdy neighbor!

Today, we’re going to celebrate a piece of American history that many of our readers will well remember; a feat which, in the eyes of this historian, must certainly rank chief among the greatest technological achievements in all of human history. Our very own National Aeronautics and Space Agency’s crowning triumph, the Apollo Program, which over 60 years ago now dared slip the bonds of dear Earth’s gravity, to send humanity on its first — and until now only — course of expeditions beyond our planet to the depths of space beyond. But very soon, all that is set to change; in just a few days now, from time of writing, and hopefully before we go to print, a new course of space missions will have joined Apollo in the annals of human history, taking men unto the stars. A sister program, fittingly named Artemis.
