Songs to Sing & Tales to Tell

NORWAY — Don and Judy Mayberry, Rusty Wiltjer, and Jeanine Loubier will perform a concert, Songs to Sing and Tales to Tell, on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main Street, Norway. They will perform old and new folk songs as well as original music. 

The Mayberrys’ musical careers began in western Maine during their high school and college days, and from there, never stopped. The soundtrack of social movement and musical innovation of 1960s and 1970s folk songs inspired the Mayberrys to set out on the path they have been on ever since. Their passion took them to the Chicago folk scene during the 1970s, across the Midwest, and back home to Maine in the summers. Upon returning to the Oxford Hills area and starting a family, Don entered the ministry, and Judy pursued art. Together, they continued to use music to express themselves, their faith, and social concerns, as a powerful tool to enrich their community. Over more than forty years of music and marriage, The Mayberrys have honed their musical partnership to create what they like to call life songs; music and lyrics that express life’s hardships and joys.
