BERLIN-- Berlin/Gorham sophomore goal tender, Chelsey Caron, blocked all eleven shots she faced and freshmen players Rylie Binette and Emma Schoenbeck notched their first varsity goals lifting the B/G girls' hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Bishop Brady/Trinity in Berlin Wednesday. It was the first game of the season for both teams.
Both teams played cautious hockey and did not take too many chances in the first period. It was the B/G girls that did get some shots on starting goal tender, Lauren Owsowitz. Owsowitz was solid between the pipes making nine blocks in the first period. The Lady Mountaineers had a hitting penalty assessed at 5:49 of the first period. However, penalty killers Jensyn Dandeneau (defense) and Emma Schoenbeck (wing) came up with some solid play and did not allow a shot on their keeper, Chelsey Caron. Caron did not have a save in the first period.
