New Hampshire Acting State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan cautions that any legal fireworks purchased for the use at home on the Fourth of July holiday be kept out of the hands of children and young people. He said under state law a person who is 21 years of age or older may possess and display permissible fireworks on private property with the written consent of the owner or in the owners presence, except in a municipality which has voted to prohibit display.
