Hello fellow Berlinites. Sunday, March 5, 1972, saw 20-year-old Greg Swor jumping before close to 8,000 onlookers in a swirling snowstorm in the US National Ski Jumping Championship at Nansen’s 80 meter jump. This ended another one of Berlin’s great annual weekends which had been ongoing since 1922.

The following weekend, the big sports event for Berlin citizens took place in Durham, New Hampshire, where the Notre Dame Rams played in their last games as a high school hockey team.
