BERLIN — Candidates in contested races for city council and school board gathered in the city hall auditorium to speak briefly about why they are running for elected office at the Community Builders Hub “Candidates’ Night” last Wednesday.

Unlike previous municipal election years, it was the Community Builders Hub rather than the New Hampshire Listens program, that organized the candidates’ night. New Hampshire Listens is a community engagement initiative of the Carsey School of Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire.
