BERLIN — The Dummer Yard landfill is one of 17 sites in Berlin listed on the N.H. Department of Environmental Services Brownfields dashboard. According to the dashboard “brownfields are underutilized properties that may contain a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant.”

North Country Council Executive Director Michelle Moren-Grey said brownfields are not always former industrial sites with heaps of issues. They can also be an abandoned property or a former garage.
