To the editor:

I am not usually a person who writes a letter to the paper, but I feel compelled to do so after what has happened to my son and daughter-in-law's dog, Ty. He was shot last week by someone in this city in a nice residential neighborhood where children played. I am horrified that anyone would think of doing this to a defenseless animal in the city. This was not hunting season either. The bullet was meant for Ty.
