The unconscionable partisan maneuvering going on down in the nation’s capital and across the country make it abundantly clear that the nation now needs a viable third party. While the accusations fly back and forth across the aisles, the internet, and all other forms of media, and obstructionism is clearly the order of the day, the much needed work of the country languishes. The Far Left and the Far Right of their ...The unconscionable partisan maneuvering going on down in the nation’s capital and across the country make it abundantly clear that the nation now needs a viable third party. While the accusations fly back and forth across the aisles, the internet, and all other forms of media, and obstructionism is clearly the order of the day, the much needed work of the country languishes. Our elected officials act worse than children in a schoolyard. The Far Left and the Far Right of their respective parties are too much in control. It is time for the responsible middle of each party to say, “Enough! There’s much needed legislation that needs to be seriously discussed and acted upon. Let’s get to it.”

In order for that to get done, it may well be that the responsible center needs to form its own party. No, make that DOES need to form its own party, a party dedicated to working for the greatest good for the greatest number of people. The small mindedness of too many on the Left and on the Right makes them too limited in their thinking to even consider such an encompassing idea. But it is just such encompassing thinking that we need at this moment in our history. Partisan thinking and maneuvering is not going to get it done.
