SEWARTSTOWN – A Colebrook man died after suffering an unknown medical issue while snowmobiling Thursday.

Robert Kaffel Sr., 62, was snowmobiling on Trail 21 in Stewartstown with a friend early Thursday evening when his snowmobile got stuck. After the recent snowstorm the trail was ungroomed and had seen minimal snowmobile traffic so the two men were breaking trail most of the time in approximately 18 inches of fresh snow. While attempting to navigate up a hill in the trail, Kaffel got his snowmobile stuck. The two were able to free the machine but afterward Kaffel suffered a medical issue.
