Dr. Wilhelm Reich developed a controversial theory of energy and sex, believed he could bust clouds, ran afoul of the federal government (which ordered his writings destroyed) and died at the Lewisburg Penitentiary in 1957.

And he lived just two hours north of the Androscoggin Valley in Rangeley, Me., where a visit to his museum, Orgonon, is a fascinating experience.
