BERLIN — Bicyclist and retired full-time journalist Bob Sanders stopped in Berlin on June 25 en route to completing a two-wheeled trip through three New England states to bring greater awareness to the war in Gaza and its collateral damage to citizens.
During the late June visit to the Berlin Sun office, as of 6 p.m. Sanders said he had “only” ridden 58 miles that day. He parked and locked his bike outside the office, at 164 Main St., taking off his black and yellow bike helmet, strapped on top of a white baseball cap with a brim to shield his eyes from the sun. Secured to the back of his blue cycling jersey was the sign: Ride Against War in Gaza, Tri-State Tour.
