BERLIN — Students in the city’s school district will return to school on Thursday, Sept. 3, and will find higher meal prices.

The increase is aimed at closing about a $54,000 deficit For the last 10 years, the Berlin school district has not had a deficit, unlike other school districts across the state. Costs are increasing to buy and prepare food for breakfasts and lunches.
