CAMBRIDGE — State officials hope to begin construction of a new visitors center at Umbagog Lake State Park this fall.

Johanna Lyons, park planning and development specialist for the N.H. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, said the project is scheduled to go out for bids in May, with bids due by the end of June. The plan is to start construction after Labor Day when the base campground is closed for the season.
